Roque Nublo and Pico de las Nieves are two of the most iconic natural symbols of Gran Canaria. Roque Nublo, an impressive 80-meter-high volcanic monolith, rises within the Nublo Rural Park and offers hiking trails with unique panoramic views of the island. Meanwhile, Pico de las Nieves is the highest point on Gran Canaria, from which visitors can enjoy sweeping vistas of the entire island. Both locations stand out for their protected natural environment, rich biodiversity, and the opportunity to experience nature in its purest form.
Roque Nublo and Pico de las Nieves offer much more than breathtaking panoramic views. Roque Nublo, located at 1,813 meters above sea level, is an iconic spot for hiking and photography, especially at sunrise and sunset, when the light highlights the shapes of the monolith and the surrounding volcanic landscape. Its trails are surrounded by Canary pines, endemic vegetation, and rock formations that tell the geological history of the island.
Pico de las Nieves, at 1,949 meters high, is not only the tallest point on Gran Canaria but also a natural lookout that allows visitors to observe the island's contrasting landscapes, from the green interior to the Atlantic coast. On clear days, even neighboring islands can be seen. Both sites are part of the Nublo Rural Park, a protected area that ensures the conservation of its biodiversity and the experience of nature in its purest form, making it an ideal destination for eco-tourism and adventure enthusiasts.
